The Many Forms Of Face Cream

By Rhilao Tuckbrown

Face cream has been around for centuries and during that time it has evolved into the lotions of today. There are a few different types that are used such as cleansing, sun block, moisturizing, cold, anti aging, day and night lotions. Available at any drugstore or supermarket there is a large variety for everyone.

A recommended practice for maintaining healthy skin is the repeated application of cleansing lotions. This style of lotion not only prevents dry skin from forming but also frees pores of dirt and makeup that can cause blemishes. A routine of cleansing twice a day is recommended.

When spending extended amounts of time in the sun. Skin is susceptible to damage from the rays that are emitted by the sun. Having a high SPF rated sun block can protect against skin damage. In addition it will save from dealing with painful sun burns.

For dry, itchy skin a good lotion to apply is moisturizing lotion. This allows for skin to rejuvenate dry areas. Additionally moisturizing daily can promote healthy skin growth.

After being invented in second century Greece cold cream has been in use. It is created from water, fats, beeswax and certain fragrances that give it a pleasant odor. The main ingredients have pretty much remained the same since its invention.

A day lotion provides secondary protection to sun screen. These types of lotions have added SPF and are not recommended for night use. However non-SPF types are available for day and night applications.

Night lotions tend to contain more hydrating and moisturizing ingredients such as oils. Because of these additional additives these types of lotions are used only at night. Some blends are available that are designed for both a day and night.
