Lemonade Diet Can Absolutely Help You Be Healthy

By Pedro Ryan

The Lemonade Diet, also know as the Master Cleanse diet has been around for many years since developed by a naturopath named Stanley Burroughs. It is a liquid diet that is aimed at helping people to detoxify and cleanse their bodies. Through the process, people generally find that they lose weight as well.

The program calls for the use of salt water or a laxative herbal tea to help with the cleanse. The lemonade contains maple syrup, cayenne pepper and fresh lemon juice. The syrup will assist in keeping your energy up and helping you not to feel quite so hungry. The three together give you plenty of vitamins and minerals.

The intent is to eliminate the toxins that build up from a poor lifestyle such as eating poorly and not exercising. Cleansing the body of toxins and clearing out the intestines can help a person's digestive system to work more efficiently. This can lead to better health and may aid in continued weight loss as the body better processes the food that is taken in.

The true purpose of the system is to cleanse the body and to help a person become healthier. Burroughs especially recommended it for people with chronic illnesses. At the same time, however, it can be used by people wanting to lose weight. Reduction is reported to be up to 2 pounds per day, with 1 1/2 pounds being the average.

Some people will not feel well at the start of the program as their bodies get used to it and the toxins are being cleared. By the 3rd day on it, they will normally begin feeling better and have more energy. It's recommended that the program be followed from 7 to 12 days to get the most benefit and that this be done 3 or 4 times throughout the year for the best health.

If you intend to use the Lemonade Diet for weight loss, it can be followed more often by alternating the complete program with just drinking the lemonade and adding in a light meal each day. For the best success and to feel the best while doing it, you may want to read Burroughs' book.
